ARM Hub founder and CEO has been elected a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering (ATSE), joining Australia's most prestigious group of technology and engineering leaders.
Professor Stewart was among 35 leading innovators elected to the Academy, recognised for "supercharging AI & advanced manufacturing" in the official ATSE announcement. The Fellowship represents Australia's highest honour for applied science, technology, and engineering excellence.
ATSE brings together over 900 of Australia's leading experts to provide impartial, evidence-based advice on how technology can solve complex national challenges. Founded in 1975 as one of Australia's four learned academies, ATSE helps Australians understand and use technology to solve complex problems while advancing prosperity and sustainable solutions.
Building Australia's Industrial Future
Professor Stewart's election recognises her transformative work in scaling advanced manufacturing capabilities and commercialising Australian research and development. Through ARM Hub, she has pioneered practical AI and robotics adoption pathways for hundreds of small and medium enterprises while building connections between Australian innovators and global markets.
"I'm thrilled to be elected a Fellow of ATSE, standing alongside Australia's greatest minds in science, engineering and technology," Professor Stewart said. "It's a privilege—and a responsibility—to bring my experience in scaling manufacturing, harnessing AI and commercialising R&D to the work ATSE does."

Professor Stewart: Honoured for "supercharging AI & advanced manufacturing"
Her approach addresses a critical gap in Australia's innovation ecosystem: the country invests the vast majority of its $12 billion annual R&D spend in early-stage research but little on commercialisation or industry adoption.
Evidence-Based Impact
Under Professor Stewart's leadership, ARM Hub has demonstrated measurable impact across diverse sectors. Recent successes include supporting Stratoship's breakthrough 11-hour stratospheric flights, 'Fish Girl' Umar Nguyen's innovations in seafood processing, and Microbio's AI-enhanced sepsis detection systems.
The organisation's Propel-AIR program, Australia's first AI and robotics sprint, recently concluded with Melbourne's Nexobot winning a month-long residency at Mass Robotics in Boston. This connects Australian innovation directly to global robotics centres while maintaining domestic capability.
National Technology Leadership
ATSE President Dr Katherine Woodthorpe noted that 2025's new Fellows "are behind truly game-changing innovations - from augmented reality to green hydrogen production to the batteries of the future."
Professor Stewart's Fellowship comes as Australia seeks to capture greater value from its world-class research base while building sovereign capability in critical technologies. Her work exemplifies the Academy's mission to translate technological excellence into national benefit.
"Together, we can inspire evidence-based change that delivers a better, fairer, more productive and sustainable future for Australians," Professor Stewart concluded.
The new Fellows will be formally welcomed at the 2025 New Fellows Showcase in Adelaide in October, alongside ATSE's National Awards recognising exceptional innovation across Australian technology sectors.
