From the CEO’s Desk September 2026
"Welcome to our September newsletter, and thank you to everyone who came out to Northgate for Queensland Manufacturing Month. It was great to have so many manufacturers in the building, seeing how our AI Adopt Centre helps businesses put AI to practical use.
I made the point to IndustrialDay recently that the capability to do so is already here. So the job now is helping it scale, and you can see that happening across this issue.
Microbio has moved into the second phase of our work together, ahead of a rollout to clinical sites in Europe. Vaulta, a long-term tenant here at Northgate, is a finalist in the Premier of Queensland's Export Awards. Winners are announced on 8 October, so fingers crossed for Dominic and the team.
We've also launched the Deep Tech Innovation Internship with Quantum Australia. Engineering students will work alongside our team on real problems brought to us by industry. That's how ARM Hub has always worked, starting with what industry needs and building from there. |

| In two weeks, our Chairman Roy Green is hosting Minister Ayres for an event on industrial AI at UTS. We'll also be in Gladstone in October for the Gladstone Engineering Alliance's big annual conference, talking about adopting AI, the lessons we've learned from the more than 300 companies we've worked with across the country, and the risk of inaction. Next month we also head to the Gold Coast for AusBiotech. A lot of our work this year has been in medtech and health, Microbio included, so it's the right room for us to be in. Join our AI strategy workshop on 20 October, or come and say hello at the conference."

| | | Advancing Global Sepsis Trials with AI |
|
|
Queensland-based biotech start-up Microbio is working with ARM Hub to make sepsis detection faster and more accurate as they now progress into their second phase together.
In 2023, Microbio asked a critical question: can improved data management support global clinical trials? The answer was a platform that centralises, cleans and streamlines data to improve analytics and functionality.
The project’s second phase will support platform integration at clinical trial sites, and focus on feedback on usability and functionality. This stage precedes an upcoming rollout to European clinical sites, where teams will begin using the platform as the first step to record patient result information.

| ARM Hub + Quantum Australia |
|
|
ARM Hub and Quantum Australia joined hands and hosted a Discovery Workshop to kick off the Deep Tech Innovation Internship (DTI2), a program built to bridge academic theory and real industrial application.
Held at ARM Hub, the workshop brought students from a broad range of engineering disciplines face to face with genuine industry challenges that don't come with a textbook answer. For us, the workshop marked our first step in a program designed to give students a genuine stake in industry-grade problems long before they set foot in the ground.
"The workshop exceeded my expectations. I admired the thoughtful way in which the students engaged with the problems and their peers from different disciplines to get a nuanced understanding of what industry was seeking and then to step through possible responses. Having experts from Queensland's universities share insights around current quantum applications was a great start: I learn something new every time I'm in the audience at a Quantum Australia event," said Allison Bambrick, ARM Hub Executive Manager. | The Capability is Already Here |
|
|
ARM Hub CEO Professor Cori Stewart FTSE spoke with IndustrialDay for its recent infrastructure feature. Her assessment of Australian manufacturing came down to one key point: The foundations exist, the job before us now is to scale.
Manufacturers have moved past experimentation. They are increasingly asking what AI can do across the whole business, rather than inside one application at a time; connecting logistics, purchasing and production so the data works together.
"You can move between those silos and get those rarefied benefits that you weren't able to do before," Cori said.

| | | Inside Advanced Manufacturing Tours |
|
|
ARM Hub welcomed two tour groups this month as part of Inside Advanced Manufacturing, a Queensland Manufacturing Month program running from 1 to 11 September.
It was a pleasure to host manufacturers, designers and researchers at our Northgate facility on 4 and 10 September. Each group toured the site and then heard from Arm Hub's Michael Hunter and Charlotte Birkinshaw about AI Adopt. The team covered how businesses can find practical uses for AI in areas such as predictive maintenance, quality control and supply chain management, and what successful adoption involves. Visitors included ABGAL Liners & Covers, Green Steel, Van Leeuwen Pipe & Tube and the Australian Cobotics Centre.
Thank you to the Queensland Department of Natural Resources and Mines, Manufacturing and Regional and Rural Development for including ARM Hub in this year's program, and to everyone who came through. |
